FZ managed the Manchester United Premier Cup Finals which took place this weekend at the Nike Football Training Centre Soweto.
The tournament was highly competitive and the energy was high throughout the 2 days. All teams were very focused and enthusiastic about reaching the ultimate objective – The Final.
The semi finals were as follows: Ajax CPT vs. Diambars which ended 2-1 and SuperSport United vs. Bidvest which ended 0-0. They then went to penalties which saw SuperSport United prevail as Bidvest Wits missed 2 penalties. (4-2)
The final between Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United kicked off at 13.15 and it turned out to be a very exciting match. Both teams played really well however Ajax Cape Town created more chances and in the end they came out on top. The final score was 2-1. Abrahams Shaquille and Mdatyulwa Lunathi scored the goals for Ajax and Karabo Nkoana scored the goal for SuperSport United.
The player of the Tournament was Zama Rambuwane
from SuperSport United and the Top Goal Scorer was awarded to 2 players, Witness Mathehula from Diambars and Avuyile Mkhundlu from Mamelodi Sundowns who each scored 4 goals.
Ajax Cape Town will now prepare for their next challenge which is the MUPC Global finals set to be held at the end of July in Shanghai, China.
