June, 2019

Betway hosted the 2019 Thought Leadership Masterclass in Uganda this week.

The two-day workshop took place in Kampala on Tuesday, 18th June and Wednesday, 19th June 2019 and was the 2nd instalment of the Betway Thought Leadership series held in Uganda.

The aim of this year’s workshop was to bring various sporting codes and stakeholders together and to create a platform for networking and knowledge-sharing with a focus on Brand Positioning in the Sporting Industry.

Workshop delegates included members from football, rugby, tennis, futsal, handball, boxing, pool table, media, regulators, government institutions and marketing firms.

Forwardzone CEO, Ashley Kotzin, was a keynote speaker at the workshop highlighting international sporting trends and discussing job opportunities, commercial revenue in sports, and fan engagements, along with brand positioning in the local and global context of sports.

Speaking after the event, Kotzin discussed the importance of these types of workshops, “Sport is an ever-evolving industry and the key is to not only keep up with the trends, but also to look at opportunities to disrupt the game. Workshops like the Betway Thought Leadership, where you bring together stakeholders from different sporting codes and industries create a platform to do this and I must once again commend Betway on being an industry leader in these initiatives and on their continued commitment to sports development across the continent”.
