Over the past 2 weeks Laura Smit, Head of Forwardzone Operations traveled to New Zealand to attend the Auckland City FC U17 Youth Tournament in Westmere Auckland. She was hosted by Ellerslie AFC and Head Coach Ryan Shiffman who have close ties to Forwardzone. Ellerslie AFC made it through to the Men’s Bowl Semi Finals after a hard fought game, where the team went out during a penalty shoot out.  During her stay in Auckland, Laura was also attended the Cricket World Cup Semi final between New Zealand and South Africa which was played at Eden Park, where she was able to support Forwardzone’s first cricketer Grant Elliott who was represented by Forwardzone in his earlier career. Grant went on to win the game for New Zealand hitting a 6 to finish the game with 1 ball to spare. Forwardzone continues to have a strong relationship with the cricketer and his family as he continues his international career.
