The U20 South African National team had a great start to the COSAFA U20 Youth Championship by beating Mauritius 4-0. Snethemba Ngidi scored the opening goal of the match and Thabani Mthembu scored the last two goals with an assist by Sanele Khuzwayo who are all FZ Players.

Their second match against Tanzania was a seemingly harder game as it ended in a draw.  Thabani Mthembu was the hero of the day as he scored the equaliser, ending the match 1-1.

Their final group match against Zambia was tough and unfortunately the U20 SA team were not able to beat the defending champions. Even though one of our FZ players, Sanele Khuzwayo scored a consolation goal the game still ended 5-1.

Despite the disappointing ending, the U20 SA team fought hard and never gave up throughout the tournament. FZ are particularly proud of our players who were part of the team and displayed their talent so superbly.
