Ghana Talent Search

August, 2017

Over the month of July 2017, Forwardzone and Betway Ghana have activated the Betway Ghana Talent Search.

The technical team, which consists of Betway brand ambassador Stephen Appiah and local Black Stars B coach Maxwell Konadu, traveled to different regions around Ghana to find the best talented footballers aged 18-25 years old. The regions visited included Takoradi, Koforidua, Kumasi and Accra, with over 1390 players being seen by the coaches who traveled over 1108 km to see Ghana’s top talent

The technical team with Forwardzone selected 18 players who will be invited to attend a one week high performance training camp, taking place from the 21st of August 2017 to 25th of August 2017, at Lizzy Sports Complex in Ghana.

The final 18 selected players will be put through their paces during the one week camp. During the camp they will receive high quality training and play two friendly matches against top local Ghanaian teams.

Stephen Appiah expressed his happiness and was hopeful that this opportunity which has been given to the selected players will boost their football careers. Appiah thanked Betway for giving him the opportunity to lead the technical team and encouraged the players. “It’s been great so far. We have seen so many talents and it was difficult for us to select the 18 players. Whenever we are selecting the players I get emotional because they were all good and deserved to make it to the next stage but we obviously have to cut down the numbers. I want to thank Betway for giving me the opportunity to be part of this initiative”, Appiah commented.

The Betway Talent Search forms part of Betway’s commitment to drive interest and support in Ghanaian football.

Forwardzone is proud to have partnered with Betway to execute this ground breaking initiative
