African Champions Mamelodi Sundown’s, Embarked on a pre-season tour to the Netherlands. Mamelodi Sundown’s spent 10 days in the Netherlands preparing for the start of the 2023/2024 Premier Soccer League in South Africa.

Sundown’s the most successful football club in the South African Premier League, touched down in The Netherlands on the 18th of July 2023, the team played 4 friendly games against top tier clubs. Friday the 21st of July 2023, the team played KAA Gent in Belgium, the team drew 2-2. The team kicked off their Netherlands leg of the tour on the 23rd of July 2023, playing against Eredivisie team, Go Ahead Eagles, winning 1-0. The South African Embassy to The Hague, The Ambassador, delegates and South African Supporters, joined Sundown’s for the showdown.

The team then played their most competitive game against Sparta Rotterdam. The Game was played at the KNVB, in Zeist, the final score saw Sundown’s taking a 3-1 win. Post the game, Sundowns technical team was hosted by the KNVB and enjoyed a tour of the facilities.

While in the Netherlands the team also enjoyed some down time in Amsterdam, enjoying a city canal cruise and taking in the sites.

The team travelled to join NAC Brede at their training grounds in Delden, for their final game, Sundowns ending their tour with a 2-1 win over NAC.
