Bloemfontein Celtic, this season’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge Winning Team, returned to South Africa on Saturday after a 9-day tour of the UK.
This year marked the 5th year of the competition and saw the Multichoice Diski Challenge Tour head to the home of football.
With football the focus of the tour, this year’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge Winning Team got the opportunity to train at Premier League Clubs, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham Youth Academies in preparation for their friendly matches against West Ham United U23 & Fulham U23.
The team also played a role in history, becoming the first team from South Africa to take part in VAR testing during the Fulham friendly.
The football-rich tour also saw this year’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge Winning Team attend two live Premier League matches featuring title contenders Liverpool against Fulham and West Ham vs Huddersfield, as well as live European football action at the Emirates Stadium, witnessing Arsenal beat Rennes to advance to the quarter finals of the Europa League.
A stadium tour of the London Stadium and a team talk with Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, rounded off the football elements of the tour.
With the global nature of the game, another key element of the tour is giving the team a chance to experience different cultures. This year a trip to Buckingham Palace and an open-bus tour of London’s greatest sights were highlights for the team as they explored the history and culture of the city and marked the closing of this year’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge UK Tour.
