Over the past few months, Forwardzone, in its trusted advisory role with global sportswear brand Kappa, proudly helped bring to life one of the most exciting fan campaigns in South African football: the Kappa x Kaizer Chiefs Ultimate Support VIP Experience.
This unique campaign was more than just a competition – it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for six lucky fans (three winners, each with a partner), who got to live out the dream of every Kaizer Chiefs supporter: a front-row, all-access, VIP-style Soweto Derby experience.
With winners selected from across South Africa, two pairs flew in from Cape Town and Durban to Johannesburg, where they were joined by the two Joburg-based winners. From touchdown, it was VIP treatment all the way. The airport guests were welcomed with personalised signage and chauffeured in official Kaizer Chiefs-branded vehicles to their luxury accommodation in the heart of Sandton.
Upon arriving at the hotel, the winners were treated to an exclusive unboxing of their VIP hampers, packed with official Kappa x Kaizer Chiefs merchandise, some of which cannot even be purchased in stores. Over the next two days, they enjoyed the full Kaizer Chiefs experience — from a behind-the-scenes tour of the Kaizer Chiefs Village, to tailored activations that celebrated their love for the game and the brand.
Post the Kaizer Chiefs Village Tour, the winners returned to the hotel where they able to put their feet up and relax ahead of matchday. But to their surprise the winners were graced with the presence of Kaizer Chiefs legends including Bobby Motuang, Doctor Khumalo, Siphiwe Tshabala as well as the Coach and team. Rubbing shoulders with the gents before taking the field the next day, after just having met them that same afternoon was yet another unexplainable surprise and delight.
Derby Day, Done Differently
Matchday brought with it even more magic. Collected again in style, the winners were taken to a central meeting point where they boarded the Kappa “team bus” — joining Kappa clients, staff and key partners. Escorted by Metro Police, the convoy to the stadium was seamless and symbolic of the elevated experience fans were treated to throughout.
At the stadium, the Kappa suite awaited. A space filled with energy, passion, and a shared love of football, this exclusive suite was a final touchpoint in a weekend packed with unforgettable moments. From the roar of the crowd to the intimacy of hospitality, the Ultimate Supporter VIP Experience truly lived up to its name.
