The Volkswagen Train 4 Life initiative has once again returned with its latest design to empower girls in and around Tembisa. This program aims to promote girls’ participation in sports, enhance their self-esteem and confidence, and help them develop life skills that will benefit them on and off the field. The program is currently in full swing, and we are proud to announce that we have reached the halfway mark.

The focus of the VW Train 4 Life initiative is to drive healthy habits and passions through a girls-only soccer league and educational life skills programme. We believe that sport is a powerful tool to promote physical and emotional well-being, and this program provides an excellent opportunity for girls to stay active while also building themselves as individuals.

The skills programme topics included period poverty and personal hygiene, road safety, self-defense as well as a talk by the 2023 VW Train 4 Life Ambassador – Zanele Nhlapo, a professional Sundowns Ladies footballer as she spoke to the audience about her journey in getting to where she is now.

By participating in the program, the girls gain valuable life skills that will benefit them in their personal and professional lives.

At this halfway mark, we are thrilled to see the impact that the VW Train 4 Life programme has had on the girls so far and we are confident that this program will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of these girls and empower them to reach their full potential.
