As the road down under comes to an end for Forwardzone clients, Banyana Banyana Head Coach Desiree Ellis and Banyana Banyana athletes Gabriela Salgado and Robyn Moodaly, they make their way back to South Africa alongside the national squad on a high note, as they grace us with their presence as HISTORY MAKERS!

Accomplishing this goal was not only a milestone for Ellis or the entire squad but for the country and the African nation as a whole. Head Coach Desiree Ellis, has successfully led the way as Banyana Banyana made it out the group stages for the first time ever.
From the first whistle of the team’s first game to the final whistle of their last match – the team put up a fight and showed the world what they are capable of, with the squad’s intention to contest for the win in each and every game.
Banyana not only scored their first #FIFAWWC goal ever but made it out of the group stages coming second in their group and making it to the Round of 16 – an achievement like no other.
Both Moodaly and Salgado played a critical role when called up to perform for the national badge. With Moodaly having an absolute cracker on target in the group stages, only to be stopped by the post and Salgado taking crucial touches to maneuver her way through the opposition with her technical abilities and speed – our athletes have made us proud. Banyana has made us proud.
The South African National Team not only showcased their talent on the field but stole the hearts of the fans and ignited the atmosphere off the field. From the stadium security and staff to the local fans, to even those supporting the opposition – we brought the energy, we touched lives, and captured the hearts of the FIFA Women’s World Cup™️.
May we celebrate them today on National Women’s Day, and may we celebrate them for the months, years, and decades to come.
Welcome home Banyana Banyana and Happy National Women’s Day.
