Forwardzone is proud to be associated with LaLiga in bringing the the biggest game in club football, #ElClasico, to Nelson Mandela Square, Johannesburg, for the city’s largest ever live viewing of #ElClasico, taking place on Saturday 3 December 2016.
LaLiga, the Spanish Football League, bring FC Barcelona v Real Madrid CF to Nelson Mandela Square at the live viewing and is giving the opportunity for viewers Rub shoulders with visiting LaLiga ambassador; former France and Real Madrid midfielder, Christian Karembeu, while watching the #ElClasico. Karembeu was an integral part of the French national team that won the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 UEFA European championship, and the Real Madrid side that lifted the 1998 and 2000 UEFA Champions League trophies.
“It’s an honour for me to represent LaLiga in Africa, and to help and collaborate in the expansion that it has been undergoing for many years, bringing it closer to fans the world over,” Karembeu said. “LaLiga are aware of the support from all the fans in this country so we are happy to share #ElClasico with them. We are working to increase LaLiga’s profile and they are all part of that.”
The viewing is free and open to people of all ages. The day will be packed with activities including autograph and photo sessions with LaLiga Legend, Christian Karembeu, and a live performance by Cassper Nyovest. Fans will also have the opportunity to walk away with LaLiga memorabilia. Festivities will commence at 14:00 local time, with the main attraction, the game between Barcelona and Real Madrid, kicking off at 17:15. The game will be followed by a live performance by Cassper Nyovest.
