Two monumental victories celebrated at the 2025 DStv Schools Netball Challenge national finals, where Nomzamo Secondary School (Western Cape) and Hoërskool Menlopark (Gauteng) claimed their first-ever titles in the Ubuntu and Botho streams, respectively.
Hosted at Dr E.G. Jansen High School in Boksburg on 25–26 July, the national finals drew teams from across South Africa into intense competition and unforgettable moments.
🏐 Nomzamo Secondary School – Ubuntu Champions
Nomzamo delivered a standout performance, defeating three-time finalists Lambalati Secondary (Mpumalanga) 25–17 in a decisive final to lift their first Ubuntu stream trophy. Their command on court was a highlight of resilience and teamwork.
🏐 Hoërskool Menlopark – Botho Champions
In a nail-biting finale, Menlopark edged out Paarl Gimnasium 22–21, sealing their victory in the final seconds for a dramatic first-ever Botho stream title. The team’s unity and focus under pressure defined their triumph.
🏅 Bronze Medallists & Growing Depth
Kgaphamadi Secondary School (North West) and La Rochelle Girls’ High School (Western Cape) rounded off the podium in their respective streams, showcasing the tournament’s expanding reach and talent base.

Launched in 2021 in partnership with MultiChoice, SA Schools Netball, and Bestmed, the tournament has quickly become a cornerstone for scouting emerging young talent and empowering student athletes nationwide – offering equal access and exposure to players from diverse backgrounds.
Nomzamo’s journey to glory featured mentorship from top-level athletes – including Proteas captain Bongi Msomi – through specially curated coaching clinics that strengthened their performance during the finals.
