Young South African midfielder, Ricky Lourenco, has joined Dutch side, PEC Zwolle, and will be playing for their youth team over the course of this season. The left-sided attacking midfielder joins fellow South African, Dean Patricio, in Zwolle’s youth side, Jong PEC Zwolle, who play their football in the Beloften Eredivisie, Holland’s reserve league. Lourenco, 19, is a product of the successful Bidvest Wits youth academy, and suitably impressed Zwolle enough for them to offer him a deal there. Lourenco will now face the challenge of impressing their technical team and force his way into the first team in the near future. Zwolle have a history of working with South African players of late, with Kamohelo Mokotjo having done incredibly well there last year before his move to FC Twente, as well as Patricio and Miguel Dias also spending time there.
