The University of Pretoria took on Heerenveen on Wednesday evening in tough playing conditions at the Heerenveen training facility.
TUKS held their ground in the first half against the technically sound and physically strong opponents.
Playing conditions were not easy for the TUKS outfit with the cold weather and challenging playing surface. The teams went into the half time break scoreless.
The defensive organisation of TUKS had improved from the first match against PEC Zwolle on Monday evening and it was severely tested by the Heerenveen attacking force.
Heerenveen opened scoring in the 51st minute with a well taken goal by their #10 followed by another goal by their #9 in the 67th minute.
The score line could have been stretched further had it not been for the efforts of goalkeeper Lebo Ngubeni.
TUKS will regroup for their final match against Vitesse on Friday afternoon. Kick off will be at 13.00 (CET).
